Malaysia



Malaysia is one of the most beautiful and fascinating tourism destination of South East Asia. Its cultural diversity and amazing contrast or color amazing tourism. All places are interesting but there have certain more interesting places that we can visit in Malaysia such as Petronas Twin Towers, Georgetown, A Famosa, Langkawi, Perhentian Island, and Cameron Highland. In a country that amazingly beautiful and natural landscape, Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Twin Tower stand out as an usual example of Malaysian's urban design excellence. Next, George Town is the capital city of Penang, an island state with the biggest Chinese population in Malaysia. Elsewhere skyscrapers rise high above the city is an unmissable destination for travelers. Then, historical fortress found in Malacca is A Famosa. Built in the early 1500's and continually expanded over the courses of that century as it stand as an emblematic symbol of the city's past. Langkawi is the main islands that often overlooked especially by western tourist, Langkawi offers breathtaking scenery with its beautiful beaches. One of the most intriguing of Langkawi's attractions is the tomb of Mahsuri. Sea lovers planning to visit Malaysia should put the Perhentian Island on the of their list of places to see. The island are fringed by a coral reef, and the underwater life is rich with sea turtles and many species of tropical fish sitting 1500 meters above sea level, the area hosts the largest tea plantations in Malaysia, which give it fine characteristic, fuzzy appearance that attracts so many tourists to this place. But the Cameron Highlands beauty and popularity are also due to  its climate.




In Malay culture, there are many types of traditional games that are very popular in Malaysia. One of them is Wau. The word 'Wau' is derived from the Arabic letter 'wau' as the shape of the wing resemblances to the outlines of the particular letter. In Malaysia, the most popular Wau is Wau Bulan. Compared to the traditional size of Wau Bukan the others kites are quite small. It was measure 2.5 meters wide and 3.5 meters long. Usually, Wau was played in evening at field and also played during an event day. Congkak also one of the popular traditional games. Congkak is a mancala games of Malay origin played in Malaysia., Singapore, Brunei, Southern Thailand also some part of Sumatra and Borneo. The word congkak was believed originated from the old Malay 'congkak', gives meaning as mental calculation that was practiced in this game.For playing congkak, we need to prepare congkak boards, marbles or rubber seeds. Usually, congkak was played in tournament and at village. Others type of traditional games is Batu Seremban. It was a historical and heritage kind of traditional games, unique and differ. The game was inherited from the great grand generation of descendants before world of civilization. The way of playing this game is to throw one of the stone one at a time and sweeping another on the floor all together and catching the one you threw earlier on. This game was played using 5 or 7 pieces of object usually made of small stone, beads, fruits seeds, beans, nut or nutshell, or even bones and hard wood but not these day. Today, they already improved using marble or small bags of sand or stone or beans.



Malaysia is a multi-ethnic state that can live in harmony. The three major races, in Malaysia are Malays, Chinese and Indians. Besides that Malaysia also a country of 80 groups of ethnic from east of Malaysia. Among them are Baba and Nyonya, Kadazan Dusun, Bajau, Runugus and Iban. There are many tribes of Bajau in the state of Sabah and were among the original inhabitants of the island in Borneo. Rungus also the largest population in the northern region of Sabah. Malaysia also have our own traditional costume according to races and ethnic. Malay traditional costume are Baju Melayu, Kebaya, and Songkok. while Chinese are Hanfu and Cheongsam. Lastly India wear Sari, Serban and Kurta as their traditional costume.



Malaysia also have variety choices of food. Some of them are rich with spice, coconut milk and ulam. Nasi lemak is like bread and water in Malaysia. It is the common ffoe we used to eat during breakfast. Roti canai and teh tarik also popular among all races in Malaysia. Since Malaysia is a multi races country, the food is strongly influence by the ethnics. As for Javanese, Nasi Ambeng and bakso is their traditional food. Chinese are very particular with their food. They prefer lots of vegetables and less oil. Indian loves to use variety of spices in their cooking. They are very good in making curry. Other Malaysian dessert such as Air Batu Campur (ABC), pisang goreng, keropok and pau can easily found at any stall along the road. Sabah also have its own traditional food such as ambuyat, hinava, amplang, kuih cincin and bosaou. As for Sarawak, the popular foods are umai, ikan lumek, salai, and umbut palah. One of the unique thing about Malaysian food is, food have its own way in building the unity among Malaysian. During festival season espeacially, other races come to visit their friends and they share food together while having a chat. In the main time, they got to know others culture traditional food.
